Open Media Project
State and local government have more impact on the lives of US citizens than National government, yet local elections are precisely where civic participation is at its lowest. Open Media Project (OMP) is designed to expand civic engagement in local government by providing simple, affordable (or free) tools to bring local governments into the 21st Century. OMP helps all governments be open, all of the time.
Spotlight on Students (SOS)
Youth produced show by middle and high school students around the Denver Metro area. The S.O.S. show spotlights students who are involved in activism, organizing and social justice activities in their schools and communities. We also showcase talented young performers and artists each month. The S.O.S. Production Group meets every Wednesday at Denver Open Media. Participation in this group will give them access to training, facilities and equipment during the monthly meetings.
In an effort to increase participation and transparency in government, the Open Media Foundation works with the Colorado State Legislature to broadcast every meeting of the Colorado State House of Representatives and the Colorado State Senate on the Colorado Channel, Comcast 165. Watch online at coloradochannel.net.
Open Music Sessions Community Production
A group of community producers, musicians and artists bring you a live show celebrating the arts and diversity in Denver on the first Friday of every month.
