POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Open Media Foundation seeks an experienced Account Director with a commitment to using their skills to make the world a better place. Our top candidate will have a passion for OMF’s mission and a desire to support the community and contribute to the greater good.

The Account Director will be responsible for elevating our marketing services to the next level of strategic service to our nonprofit and government clients. For years, OMF has been an expert in providing high-end website development, branding, and custom video production. We have all the pieces of a full-service Marketing/Communications agency, but too-often provide these as stand-alone services and piecemeal projects without helping our clients form a strategic marketing plan that optimizes the impact of their investments in our services. We’re looking for a multi-talented professional who will help OMF and our clients think bigger: providing a strategic direction for our media and marketing services while taking a leadership position in the day-to-day delivery of those services for our current clients. Ideal candidates will have experience in developing and working in a full-service marketing or digital agency environment and will be able to translate that experience into strong opinions and solid plans to help OMF serve our clients at the highest level. They will work with the Executive Director to develop a sales and marketing plan with the goal of identifying new nonprofit and governmental client prospects and partners, both locally and nationally, selling our services to those prospects and then cultivating our relationship with them for long-term success. They will work with the Chief Operating Officer to develop a growth and hiring plan for the Services team as supported by the evolution strategies they put in place.

The Account Director will be responsible for the financial health and overall management of the Open Media Foundation’s Services Department. The Account Director will be the primary contact for our Services clients, responsible for their long-term relationship with Open Media Foundation and their overall satisfaction for the work that we perform on their behalf. The Account Director will be responsible for ensuring that departmental profit goals are met and that projects are scoped, sold, contracted, managed and delivered at a high quality. They will manage the day-to-day workload of our design and development team, coordinating schedules with clients, ensuring work is performed on a timely basis, and leading the presentation and approval processes. They will manage the capacity planning for the team and will identify and secure freelance personnel as needed to meet our project commitments.

The Account Director is responsible for promoting a collaborative and healthy office culture by being a steward of the Open Media Foundation’s core values. The Account Director is also important for promoting collaboration across departments.
