Second Wind Fund

Overview

Second Wind Fund (SWF) believes that every child and youth at risk of suicide should have access to the mental health treatment they need. They match youth at risk for suicide with licensed therapists in their communities. If a financial or social barrier to treatment is present, they pay for up to 12 sessions of therapy with one of their specialized network providers. This unique program helps referred youth discover hope and healing in their lives.

Do you love the outdoors? It’s time to give back! Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) is a Colorado non-profit that activates citizens to become engaged stewards of the outdoors.VOC operates a statewide volunteer program that brings together individuals of all ages, interests and backgrounds to work in wildfire and flood restoration, trail building and maintenance, tree planting and reforestation, and much more.

Muslims in the Mountain West

Overview

The Frontier, openness, the west, community. These core ideals are fundamental to the mission of Muslims in the Mountain West (MMW). Believing that Muslims in the area are the ultimate invisible minorities, the MMW project is about giving them a space to describe their own experience of living in this region. The organization speaks to the media, nonprofits and curious members of the general population looking to have interfaith dialogues.

The Book Trust Experience

Overview

Book Trust provides books for kids from low-income families—books that they choose themselves and that become their very own. This video highlights the 7 parts of "The Book Trust Experience"- choice, life skills, anticipation, celebration, sharing, book ownership, and family engagement.

Considered one of the best open-enrollment Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) schools in the country, DSST Public Schools boast the highest performance and secondary school growth rate in Denver Public Schools. Illustrating the unique way DSST engages with their diverse community and revamping the current DSST website were the challenges presented to the OMF web team.

Extreme Community Makeover

Overview

Extreme Community Makeover coordinates volunteer teams to partner with underserved people to improve their own homes and neighborhoods. These projects build safer environments; cultivate community among residents, neighborhoods, and networks of local resource providers; and connect residents to a permanent path towards healthy, hopeful, and stable lives.
