Account Executive Position

Position Title:  Account Executive
Reports To:  Executive Director
Salary:  $40,000 - $50,000 plus benefits, depending on experience 

Position SummaryThe Open Media Foundation seeks a full-time Account Executive to develop and nurture relationships with new and existing government and nonprofit customers of OMF services. Primary responsibilities include business networking, relationship building, and client communications while working closely with our team to develop and deliver a range of communications solutions and services for our client.  Our top candidate will have a passion for the mission of OMF. We seek a strategic professional who demonstrates a passion for social change with experience juggling multiple priorities.

The Account Executive is responsible for generating revenues for the Open Media Foundation by coordinating proposals with relevant service departments and making sales presentations. Additionally, the Account Executive will service and manage working relationships with various nonprofit and government clients and partners to help ensure their goals are reached through our Web Development, Video Production, Branding, and other communications services.

Organization:  The Open Media Foundation is a nonprofit, providing communications services, training and tools to individuals, nonprofits, and governments. We believe communication drives social values, and we want everyone to have a voice in creating a new media conversation.

Like a PR firm or Ad Agency, OMF offers professional video production, web development and branding services, exclusively for nonprofits and governments, with a matching grant that covers up to half the costs.  For people who want to do it themselves, we teach classes like animation or video editing. Finally, OMF provides high-end equipment, facilities, and web and tv distribution (via DOM, Denver’s Public Access TV Station) so everyone has access to the tools they need to make and spread their own media.  Additional information about Open Media Foundation may be found at openmediafoundation.org.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage revenue producing relationships with clients and agencies

  • Prospect for new business and build a full pipeline of sales prospects

  • Analyze client marketing goals and develop needs based solutions to achieve them

  • Oversee campaign execution and analysis

  • Work collaboratively with internal partners to drive revenue

  • Grow and manage existing customer accounts

  • Close and manage incoming sales inquiries

  • Identify and coordinate sales proposals and quotations

Desired Skills:

  • Strong organization, prioritization and time-management skills

  • Data competent: an understanding of data segmentation and how to apply data insight creatively)

  • Written and Verbal communications: negotiating/sales skills, and effective presentation skills are a must

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with IT terminology and media/communications technologies

  • Problem solving and analytical skills

Desired Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in any relevant field, including IT staffing, account management, advertising agency work, project management, PR sales or services, government and other sales and account-support roles.

  • Proven ability to develop solid, consultative business relationships through effective networking skills to grow and develop accounts   

  • Experience serving as first line of contact with customers is required

  • Proven ability to follow established processes, participates in account reviews and performance measurement as a client liaison
