THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you passionate about civic engagement and experienced in sales? Do you want to help governments and nonprofits use modern communications tools to more effectively engage the public? As the Digital Marketing Sales Associate at the Open Media Foundation, you will help your fellow citizens engage in their community and bring about the change they wish to see in the world. Collaborating with senior staff, you will help OMF shift the media conversation (and thus social awareness) from the corporate interests of our commercial media system towards the human interests of an open, diverse, engaged public.

The Open Media Foundation (OMF) is looking for a contract to hire Sales and Digital Marketing Associate. The primary focus of this job will be acquiring new government customers for OMF’s government meeting video streaming/archiving Software-as-a-Service, Open.Media for legislatures, city councils and other government bodies.

Nearly 50 government clients are currently using the service, including the Colorado House & Senate, Colorado Supreme Court, City of Littleton and Arapahoe County. A secondary focus will be to sell other digital marketing services, such as websites, social media, design, SEO, and video production services to nonprofit and social change organizations.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Prospect for new business and build a full pipeline of sales prospects (Network For Good & Hubspot)
Weekly cold calls to potential clients and following up by email
Close and manage incoming sales inquiries
Support new clients through their initial product launch
Attend and present at industry conferences
Create additional sales channel opportunities through vendor partnerships
Participate in discussions regarding product vision, road map and development priorities
Manage OMF & DOM’s $600,000/year Google AdWords program, including mobilizing and training key staff in effective Google AdWords campaigns
Spearhead targeted outreach campaigns to raise awareness of Open Media Foundation and Denver Open Media
Manage sales-focused Open Media Foundation and Denver Open Media web content and associated Adwords search campaigns

DESIRED SKILLS

Strong organization, prioritization and time-management skills
Data competent: an understanding of data segmentation and how to apply data insight creatively
Written and verbal communications: negotiating/sales skills, and effective presentation skills are a must
Industry knowledge: familiarity with IT terminology and media/communications technologies
Problem solving and analytical skills

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

2-3 years’ experience in any relevant field, including account management, advertising agency work, PR sales or services, government and other sales and account-support roles
Proven ability to develop solid, consultative business relationships through effective networking skills to grow and develop accounts
Experience serving as first line of contact with customers is required
Ability to follow established processes, participate in account reviews and performance measurement as a client liaison
