OPEN MEDIA helps create accessible communication tools to foster a more inclusive and diverse media ecosystem that empowers all voices.
We empower nonprofits, governments, and individuals to shift the media conversation (and thus social awareness) from the corporate interests of our commercial media system towards the human interests of an open, diverse, engaged public.
To accomplish our mission, we begin with providing affordable, high-end media and technology services. We follow up by offering training and tools that enable everyone to represent their own voice in the media conversation.
Where traditional PR/Marketing is often invasive, OMF works with clients to make information widely available, easily accessed, and shareable by your communities of interest. Traditional PR/Marketing approaches often disregard whether messages are welcome or appropriate for every context, what we call “Push Marketing.” Push marketing invades public life, whereas “pull marketing” is designed to be “pulled” by those seeking the information.
In a networked world with infinite options, people seek-out communities of interest and information from trusted sources. Our communications support the public in spreading your message to reach wider audiences, designed to be personalized, replicated, and spread by the community.
The traditional marketing and communications avenues are prohibitively expensive. Because we want to live in a world where the strength of one’s message is not determined by the amount of money you have to spend, we promote communications avenues that are economically accessible.
