Public Access TV Station Intern
Description: Denver Open Media, a project within the Open Media Foundation, runs the only public access TV station in Denver, and we would be excited for you to join our team! This position is for someone with an interest in learning the inner workings of a television station, including studios, video production, editing, and industry specific IT equipment. Station interns will work with the Station Director to: provide outstanding member services including managing equipment check-outs/ins; maintaining gear and performing nightly inventory; content digitization; assisting with studio shoots; helping organize station events; conducting web research and data entry; mentoring youth interns and technical trouble-shooting.
Qualifications: Applicants must be friendly and outgoing, have an interest in studio management, production, public access television, or community engagement. Candidates should also be excited about working with diverse populations and have a passion for independent production. Interns will be fully trained by staff so no prior experience in station management is required, although any prior media experience is extremely helpful and technical expertise is preferred. Radio (104.7 FM) Intern
Description: We are looking for a passionate intern for Open Media Foundation's radio station. This position is for someone with an interest in learning the inner workings of a radio station, including learn how to program on a broadcast server, and schedule radio content for DOM 104.7FM. Radio interns will work with the Station Director to provide member services including converting audio files for radio, scheduling content for air, supporting members, participating in Radio Committees, making sure content is FCC compliant, and going through DOM archives to identify and convert appropriate content for radio.

Media Education Intern
Description: This position is for someone with a passion for media and education to help us expand our media education program. The education program includes youth-oriented programs offered in collaboration with local schools, community classes open to all, certification classes in public access production and post-production equipment, youth and professional internships, as well as outreach, marketing and communications.
Media education interns will work with the Media Education Coordinator to:
Help to develop new programs and classes; publicize classes on external webistes; help produce videos developed by the Education Department; design/improve promotional materials and public relations strategies; teach or assist with teaching of computer literacy and video production/post-production; data entry; and outreach to schools and nonprofit organizations to promote classes and workshop.
Qualifications: Applicants must have excellent writing and organizational skills, along with outstanding presentation skills, an interest in media education, experience living and working in diverse communities, and a passion for community access and/or independent media. Teaching or education coordination experience is a plus. A strong knowledge of video production and post-production (i.e., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.) is required, as interns will be assisting to teach classes and workshops.

Video Production and Editing Intern
Description: Production interns will: Help coordinate and organize documentary film projects, TV shows, and non-profit promotional videos; help out on various shoots as production assistant with audio, lighting, camera-work, logging, etc.; assist in production training workshops; assist in various post-production efforts from editing to motion graphics and DVD design; learn the skills needed to become an Open Media Foundation contract producer/videographer; answer phones, support volunteers, and help maintain the office.

State Capitol Production Intern
Description: These interns assist in the live television broadcast of the floor sessions of the Colorado Senate and House of Representatives for The Colorado Channel. Interns would shadow both the director and the producer roles, but specifically would manage the live television broadcast, online streaming of the sessions, as well as the archived videos. Applicants would need to commit to covering the session 2-3 days a week, starting at 8:00am Tuesday-Friday, and/or 9:00 on Mondays.
Qualifications: Individuals sought need to be dependable, professional and able to commit to serving the length of the Legislative session (January - mid-May). Computer competence, a background in video/TV production and an interest in state politics are required. A working knowledge of Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro is preferred.

Description: The Social Media Marketing Intern is responsible for coordinating and executing the organization's social media strategy and working across key social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. This role offers a total immersion into a busy digital media nonprofit where our social channels are key in communicating our mission to a growing audience. This position will be responsible for contributing to and managing social channels, scheduling and monitoring posts, reviewing analytics to inform strategy, and engaging with our community members. Additionally, the Social Media Intern will contribute blog content, ideate and execute creative campaigns, provide social support for the development team, and will document our monthly Open Music Sessions event. This role is instrumental in increasing our social media presence and gaining visibility for our service offerings for prospective members, donors, and clients.

Fundraising and Development Intern
Description: The Open Media Foundation is growing and we're searching for a motivated individual to help expand our outreach program to meet our increasing needs. This position is for someone interested in learning all the aspects of marketing, networking, fundraising and outreach for a non-profit organization. Tasks will focus on building diversity into outreach efforts, which in turn will build a strong base of different types of supporters including members, students, donors, watchers, supporters and champions within the community.
Other tasks might include assisting in planning annual spring fundraising breakfast and December Silent Auction and VIP dinner event, posting events and announcements to websites, developing speaking tours, videos and table displays, developing community outreach programs, promoting memberships & classes, promoting underwriting packages to businesses and organizations, acquiring sponsorships, event planning and working with other interns and volunteers. They may be asked to contact donors, write letters and newsletter updates, support volunteers and help with office maintenance.
Qualifications: This position requires someone who is highly motivated, self-directed and has good initiative; asks questions when needs direction, is pro-active; is a good writer & has good communication skills; has strong organizational skills, flexibility, creativity, and confidence, is able to communicate with a diverse community, is knowledgable & comfortable with both Mac & PC Operating systems, and has a passion for media, social change, has impeccable attention to detail. Grant-writing experience is not required, but preferred.

Description: At Open Media Foundation, we’re bolstering our efforts to make our government transparency tools available to all small local governments. We’ve developed a software-as-a-service called The Open Media Project that allows governments to self launch their own transparency portal including live streaming as well as searchable, on demand archives of their public meetings.
We’re looking for interns who are capable of assisting these small governments as they begin live streaming. This may include broadcasting hardware/software troubleshooting, live streaming/YouTube troubleshooting/support, as well as basic network support. In addition, this position may assist in new client orientation/training as well as workflow document creation.
Qualifications: Computer competence, a background in video/TV broadcast and an interest in government transparency are required.
